The making of
Garden Girl's
Veggie Guide

Artist Lisa McGlinchey spent over 200 hours hand painting 53 vegetables and herbs for our guide in her Geelong studio.

The originals are under lock and key but you can enjoy every item by purchasing our Print or Tea Towel

The original idea for the guide came when Elisabeth (Garden Girl) and Lisa couldn't find one for their region that was visually appealing and delivered the basics of what to plant when.

Lisa is a co-partner in the project while continuing to be one of Australia's most sought after independent Corporate Social Responsibility advisors.   In 2018 Lisa was recognised as one of 100 Women of Influence in Australia for her community work.

Take a look below at how the Guide was produced in Lisa's studio.

From paintings to print

Every herb and veggie in Gardens Girl's guide began as an original acrylic painting on paper. Elisabeth and Lisa are sisters in law and together they spent months conceiving, designing, researching and producing the guide.

They wanted to give some of the proceeds to help others and selected food rescue charity FareShare as their chosen organisation.
